SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 SMS 2003 Database Upgrade Path
I have seen several issues with SQL 2005 and SMS 2003. You can't just install SQL 2005 and then SMS 2003. I have tried a few times and it fails..
Here is the procedure as given to me by Chris Urban and verified by David Baur....
1. Install SQL 2000 with all Service Packs and Hotfixes.
2. Install SMS 2003 SP1 then SMS 2003 SP2
3. Upgrade to SQL 2005.
