Starting flashpoint for Windows Seven!!!

Hi,

On the blog official Windows Seven, Michael Fortin, systems engineer, said that a very good system should "start in less than 15 seconds." Microsoft now has a team dedicated to the performance, seeking to optimize the startup time.

Currently, the start time varies greatly depending on the material on which the operating system. Thus, only 35% of systems with Vista SP1 start in less than 30 seconds (according to data from the Customer Experience Improvement Program).

A startup time exceeds 60 seconds is due to a hardware, software or network. Windows Seven will present a number of improvements aimed at reducing the time to start, including utilities diagnosis quickly identifying such problems.

Windows Small Business Server 2008 goes RTM

Hi,

Windows SBS 2008 has just passed a statute RTM (Release To Manufacturing), which means that development is completed.
The 2 versions will be available as planned on November 12.

As a reminder, Small Business Server is a version of Windows Server specially designed to satisfy the needs of small businesses by offering them a range of complementary services such as messaging Exchange or the intranet SharePoint ...

As for the vintage 2003, 2 versions will be available, Standard and Premium, the latter adding SQL Server to the list of features.

Incompatibility between SP3 Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 !

Hi,

Upon its release in Beta 1, IE8 had already made about him because it was impossible to remove the Internet browser after installing Windows XP SP3. Well it seems that the problem resurfaced with the Beta 2.

Download and Test Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2!

Hello,

Five months after launching the first beta of Internet Explorer 8 and more than 2 million downloads, Microsoft confirms its ambition to release a final version of its browser before the end of the year with the release of Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2. This beta confirms the progress of the development team as it is presented in 4 languages (English, German, Simplified Chinese, Japanese), 21 other languages including french follow in the next few days!

With this version of Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft has taken a giant step on the interoperability of its browser and care standards by the latter. As a reminder, this version represents an improvement of some services such as anti-phishing filter, but also new services such as WebSlides, the bar favorites, the automatic restoration after a crash. The beta 2 provides stability and performance (up to 10% less CPU on all treatments can be made when navigating), which sorely lacked the beta 1, enabling it to address a other than developers. They are also standards like CSS 2.1 are now fully supported by the browser. Close collaboration took place between the teams development of Internet Explorer 8 and the working group dedicated to CSS. The team provides more than 2500 additional tests to the test suite dedicated to CSS 2.

Microsoft has to make available SQL Server 2008 Express and Report Builder 2.0 version RC1 (Release Candidate 1). SQL Server 2008 Express contains the Basic tool Management Studio Express to manage graphically SQL Server 2008 Express.

SQL Server 2008 Express provides:

       Support LINQ (Language-Integrated Query, or Requêtage integrated language)
     *
       Support EDM (Entity Data Model, ensures the independence between the entities and model of persistence and authorise a very powerful mapping)
     *
       Support for ADO. NET (this is a set of classes that expose services access to data programmer. NET).

       New types of date with the support of time zone
     *

     *

Privacy with IE 8

According to a recent communication services Microsoft in charge of developing the new version of Internet Explorer 8, the Redmond company wants to emphasize the privacy of its users.

To do this, IE 8 should include new features, compared with IE 7, or the user can control the various interactions it is obliged to meet when sail on the canvas. For example, IE 8 will allow users not to safeguard their historic pages visited, but also to erase all his personal information that could have been led to understand.

Microsoft also says that IE 8 will have a feature that would alert users when a website attempts to gather information on his person in order to effectively control the behaviour of the site vis-à-vis its visitors.

Currently, IE 8 is available in BETA version and the next version is expected by the end of the month. The final version, it will normally be scheduled before the end of the year.

Uninstall the Operations Manager 2007 Cross Platform Extensions Beta (no need to delete the imported Management packs).
Install the new Beta Refresh.
Import the Unix Library MP (and AIX if you need to monitor AIX Systems).
Extract the UnixAgents Zip file to \Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\AgentManaged (make sure it extracts into the UnixAgents folder).

Relaxation of licenses for Microsoft software virtualized

Everyone is waiting after the online Hyper-V, Microsoft has done. The Redmond company a relaxed these licenses for software virtualized.

Client Health Check Script and Scheduled task (Version 1.1 Release)

Hi,

This tool will check the health of a client from the machine itself instead of from the server or collections. It is to be used in addition to the Client Health Checks. I will be updating the checks once I have SCCM Deployed in production.

This solution is meant for SCCM 2007 client but the script could be altered to use it on SMS 2003 as well.

Please read attached doc for full explination of how this works.

Note: this Script is very complex so I may have missed some things that it does. If so let me know and I will add it to the description.

Note: all executable files have been renamed so that they can get though virus scanners without being striped so make sure that you rename things.

DPM 2007 Rollup Update disponible

Microsoft a mis à disposition une nouvelle version de DPM 2007 (Data Protection Manager 2007). Cette version nommé ‘Rollup Update’ consiste à assurer la compatibilité avec Windows Server 2008.

Parmi les nouveautés, on retrouve :

Support de Windows Server 2008 (les Serveurs Core sont aussi supportés)
Support de la restauration de base de données SQL Server 2005 sur des serveurs SQL Server 2008.
