Microsoft and Cisco Integrate LCS and Cisco Unified Communications

Microsoft and Cisco announce that around September they may have some tools to unify and integrate Microsoft’s LCS, Office Communicator and Live Meeting applications with Cisco’s Unified Communications. This seems like a natural match and I can only wonder why it took this long. Clearly, Microsoft has been making more inroads in to what have traditionally been telephony-only environments. With more and more communications moving to pure IP networks, both Cisco and Microsoft have an interest in gaining market share. It will be interesting to see where this partnership goes.
