Looking for Some Vista Anti-Virus?

Published Monday, August 28, 2006 6:10 PM

Looking for some Vista compliant AV to run while you test out the latest OS? Most testers had been using the Avast product - and it supposedly doesn't work under the latest build. I cannot get McAfee's Enterprise 8.5i to work either. You are then left with three choices of note:

  1. Norton Anti-virus has an enterprise beta version (if you can get a copy)
  2. Trend Micro has a version of PC-Cillin
  3. And the below link to Computer Associates EZ trust (free for one year) trial

What issue were you having with McAfee 8.5?
I am sure I had it working on my Vista build previously. Unfortunately my laptop needs to be rebuilt. Once I am done I will try the latest build of McAfee and give feedback.

I have installed McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.5 Beta Refresh 3 on to Vista Build 5536.

The security center in Vista detects Virus Scan as being installed and running.

Virus Scan is able to auto update and detect the EICAR virus.

It all seems to be working well at the moment.
