TechEd Attendee Party Desktop Wallpaper
Friday, June 16, 2006 2:19 AM
I had an idea for a desktop wallpaper when visiting Fenway Park tonight for the TechEd attendee party. I was walking around with Kevin Remde and he was kind enough to snap some shots with his camera for me (I accidently murdered mine a couple of days before TechEd). They came out exactly as I had hoped they would – high enough res to see all the details... Read More...

TechEd 2006 Day 4
Thursday, June 15, 2006 12:41 AM
Day 4 continued with more great sessions like Scott Schnoll’s Clustering Exchange Servers, a chalk talk on the new Exchange 2007 Edge server and and a cool little lunchtime session on how to get started writing articles for Microsoft’s TechNet magazine. I tried to stay away from the expo hall as my suitcase is already about to explode. My zipper is... Read More...

Male Booted From Women in Technology Luncheon
Wednesday, June 14, 2006 11:15 PM
If Joel was ejected simply for being a male , then someone needs to step up and explain why. That is completely uncalled for. Reverse sexism as it were. If he was booted out for acting like a dolt, then he gets what he deserves. But I know that several men attended last year’s luncheon and everything went just fine! Share this post: Read More...

Microsoft Introduces Exchange Server 2007 Edge Services
Wednesday, June 14, 2006 10:20 PM
MSG338 Microsoft IT: How MSIT Deployed Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Edge Servers was a great session that explained the internals of the new “edge” SMTP gateway server role for the Exchange Server 2007. No longer is IIS, NNTP or any of the other traditional services needed to run the edge server. The entire SMTP stack was re-written from the ground... Read More...

TechEd Day 3
Wednesday, June 14, 2006 1:53 AM
Today was pretty eventful – lots of good sessions – lots of friends to meet. I finally had the opportunity to meet Betsy Weber, Chief Evangelist for TechSmith , makers of SnagIt and Camtasia . We had an excellent Legal Seafood lunch and told some great TechEd and technology stories. I also went to a great session (MSG315 - Microsoft IT: Exchange 2003 Best Practices... Read More...

Please Give Us Full Text Feeds!
Monday, June 12, 2006 4:59 AM
I love the ideas behind techedbloggers.net but as I sat down tonight to browse the 40+ entries I was severly frustrated by the partial feeds. The hotel broadband has issues enough as it is, and it was very slow going for the third of the posts where I wanted to read the entire post. Please consider switching to full-text feeds so we don’t have to browse to each... Read More...

TechEd 2006 Flickr Stream

This is my TechEd 2006 Flickr photo stream . The link is not exactly right, but I am not a Flickr power user. Someone smarter than me, or perhaps just more experienced with Flickr can possibly shed some light I am sure. I am relegated to using the phone on my RAZR since I killed my Sony CyberShot by dropping it down the stairs . . . on a good note though; my... Read More...

Ray Ozzie announced a new client-server product line and offering called Microsoft ForeFront which will consist of security and protection features for the enterprise. I am not sure if this is a re-branding of Microsoft Client Protection or a just a placeholder for an initiative. Reportedly, Bob will elaborate during the second half of the keynote. Share this...
