About Paul 'Desktop' Davey
Paul Davey is a Technology Development Consultant for Atkins, a multinational company, mainly specialising in Engineering. Paul looks after image maintenance for existing desktops on multiple platforms as well as researching new technologies and providing solutions and standards for the organisation. Currently he is responsible for the invention of a new client desktop design, implementation and hardware selection process for upwards of 10K seats in the UK.
Prior to working for Atkins, Paul built a substantial grounding in MSI creation, Windows 2000\XP, Active Directory and .Net technologies. Working as a consultant and also for Rexam PLC, he has been responsible for the design and implementation of a worldwide Windows 2000 Infrastructure. He has worked for many other large UK clients, companies and local authorities, consulting, designing and over seeing rollouts and migrations to 1000's of end user devices.
Paul has been working in the IT industry for 8 years. He is Microsoft, Prince and ITIL accredited and is working towards a current MCSE in existing and emerging Microsoft technologies as well as pursuing other IT and non IT qualifications.
In his spare time he likes to listen to music, make music (I play guitar..), watch films and go out with his mates.. He has been known to microwave a pair of socks in the past but the less said about that the better..
