Windows Vista Gadget Generator

The gadget generator is a great way for people to learn how to build custom gadgets in Windows Vista. The generator does not produce a fully functional gadget, rather a template for you to learn and build on.

Instructions:

Download the .zip file and extract it to a location on your system.

Run the SideBar Gadget Template Generator.exe

Click Ok

Fill in the required fields, click next.

Fill in the information about your gadget

Select the files and folders you want the generator to make.

Click finish!

Right click on your sidebar and choose add gadgets.

You gadget will be displayed along with the others!

The location of the files is: C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\YOURGADGETNAME.Gadget

Search subfolders for the files you generated.
